It’s the morning of September 15th. My Mom is having surgery today, a double mastectomy. I’m driving to work, and this song comes on, mourning as Patrick Swayze has died from his battle with Pancreatic cancer.
The tears flow like memories as I remember dancing with my Mom in the kitchen as this song played over the radio. The time spent is unbearable, as our roles slowly begin to switch, and the frailty of my parents’ lives unfolds before me.
